You get what you ask and pay for - the vendor is not obliged to place

any mark, only those you ask him to provide and which he'll charge you

for if it is separate marking process.

Best for you to give the boards different part numbers and order them as

separate items and include a means in the pcb legend to differentiate

them.

Regards,

Chris

Subject: [LF] Marking and identification pcb

Hello,

I'm still having a dispute with a supplier about the finishing

identification of printed circuits. It's about an immediate

identification

at incoming inspection, of which kind of external finishing is applied

on

the pcb. I mean, when I receive a bare printed circuit board I want to

understand and differentiate in my inventory PCB's having an external

finishing of NI-AU from the ones that don't (for example SnAgCu). How

can

I get this differentiation?

According to the IPC-1066 the producer has to mark with the symbols

e1,e2...

according to finishing and solder processes used. Is it right?? If not

could you help me on how to correctly apply the norms?

 Best regards
