Hi Joe, Brian, IPC LF Listservers,

Joe I don't think it has reached market saturation YET, even though we on
IPC LF have all been together for so long that some don't even add notes
anymore since it seems like such a druge (slow moving mud and such at the
end of a river's output (I think)). Joe, Brian, solder manufacturers (like
the SPVC), we are only some of the beginning tributaries to the mouth of
this gaining momentum river.

I believe many will be coming wanting to learn like a fever, granted WAY
late yet still these conferences will be successful considering the turmoil
of being "Late Late for a Very Important DATE". If you believe the IPC's
original announcement the alloted room provided for vendor booths is
already sold out which might be an indicator of the attendance numbers.

<=== Brian's comment ===>
Good point, Joe. In a book published by UNEP, "Protecting the Ozone
Layer", the authors mention "ozone fatigue". This is not due to ozone
poisoning, but the fact that continuing pressure to protect the ozone
layer has become increasingly less effective because everyone is sick
and tired of having it continually drummed into them. This has
diminished the motivation of those responsible and the ozone departments
of many governments have shrunk in numbers, sometimes to zero, even
though the battle has not yet been won.

Brian, This reminds me of some discussions I used to have with an older
self trained engineer that engineered state of the art high speed
electronic test equipment in IBM. (5 foot 21 inches) or (3 the 4th power)
FloydOlsen, who drove a Harley when he was younger. He was at the
beginnings of TV which he adequately argued should have been called RV for
RadioVision since it used the RF Spectrum for transmission.

When good engineering either gets close to the top performance point in a
particular project or has achieved the top performance point by balancing
all the engineering variables, that exist at that historical time, humanity
and management always takes it backwards. AND they always consider their
efforts to be a success. Since Floyd, my, discussions I have noticed on
other social topics this idea is expandable to all human endeavors.

Yours in Engineering, Dave
