You may find the transition from ISO 9000:2000 to AS9100 Rev A challenging.  It's comparable to going from IPC-610 Class 2 to Class 3.  I'm attaching a copy of my company's quality flowdown to suppliers for your reference.   You can interpret the specification as stated in the beginning where the items outside the box are ISO requirements, the requirements inside the box are AS requirements, and the items in italics text are my company specific requirements.   I am on the road and don't have a clean copy of the AS spec with me.   The bottom line is that AS has specific requirements on top of the ISO standard.   One can not determine the difficulty of switching from ISO to AS without understanding the established quality system and culture at a specific company.  The best way to approach this question is to obtain a copy of AS-9100 and create a compliance matrix.  In other words, a two column list of AS-9100 requirements (item by item) and the corresponding list of how your company's quality system meets those requirements.  You've been through ISO surveillance requirements in the past and understand how the auditors interpret the standard.  Apply the same auditing philosophy the the AS requirements and you'll determine what is required to comply.
