I know that for spot-cleaning assemblies here, we have some natural
horsehair brushes that are considered to be OK (no ESD hazard), but the
nylon brushes are only OK if the bristles are wet.  I don't know how
that might translate to conformal coat, though.

OK, I have not asked a stupid question all day, so I am due.

We do a fair amount of conformal coating by hand, using artist brushes.
Would you consider paintbrushes with soft nylon bristles to be ESD
hazards and if so, why?
