Hi Joe,
Great article - Oh for more voices like yours.
I can only see the bureaucrats and lawyers winning out of this, not the
consumer nor even the environmentalists. The power generation and usage will
more likely drown more people through global warming than would die from
electronics based lead usage in solders.
Heroin bad = all opiates bad, but morphine for pain relief ... still bad?
How can the banning of lead from electronics be turned around in EU
Directives - for the good of all? I guess someone must [still] be lobbying
for reversal of directives with the politicians and EU.
Regards,
Phil.
These views are mine and may not be shared by my company etc. etc.

Hi Mike
You can make that statement a categorical one, i.e., The science relative
to
lead in electronic solders is simply not there.
I and many others have been looking for more than seven years.
I wrote an article recently on the subject of the green washing of
lead-free
if you or anyone else should be interested.

Greenwashing is a relatively new term. It is the practice of calling
something environmentally friendly when all scientific evidence indicates
otherwise.

Marketer's of lead-free (including IMHO the EuP) have used evidence
gathered
from lead paint and leaded gasoline to argue their case. This is akin to
putting an entire family on trial because one of its members committed a
crime.
It defies logic and reason.
Kind regards
Joe
