Good observation, Ramon. I wondered why the overetched areas in the
traces could be so perfectly round. It almost looked as if a dentist
went berserk with his drill on the traces.

It seems that this is caused by bubbles as Franklin already
said. The missing metal is very round like a here and there attached
bubbles would shadow.

Scott,

Sounds like they had resist lifting issues. I have often heard the term
"mouse bites" to describe intrusions. If these are print and etch
layers then the resist failed at the mouse bite. If the entire line is
ragged then they might either be over developed or sometimes the
developer rinse is to hot and the lines "Scallop" or get wavy allowing
the etch to look the same way. Plate up boards can also have the
scallop edge or if there is resist left from incomplete develop then you
can have the intrusion or bite.

Anyway you look at it, sounds like poor control of the developing
process to me.
