Hi Paul:
        Perhaps buying an adaptor for your  P&P machine might do the
trick. The company that builds your SMT equipment might have one already
in the shelf for you to use, or you could ask them if they could design
one for you. It should be less expensive than to buy a new whole
machine. All you have to do is to send them the part and the drawing so
they can match the appropriate tool required.

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anybody has used a robot for SMT placement. I have a
few SMT connectors that can't be placed by my older SMT equipment and I
could never justify new equipment just for these parts. We are hand
placing some of the parts right now, but there is a new board on the
horizon that is not layed out well for hand placing a .020" pitch
connector, so I'm thinking that a low cost robot (is that an oxymoron?)
might work. Any thoughts or experiences?
