Hi Fred,

I would be hard pressed to find any spec sheet in 4101 that is not RoHS
compliant. Unless the resin supplier is using some targeted PBDE for a
flame retardant there would not be an issue. Most laminates use TBBPA
but there are some sheets that now include alternative retardant
systems. The spec sheets that are being pushed as lead free are
materials that are more thermally tolerant to the higher processing
temperatures of lead free soldering. So yes /99 is RoHS compliant, as
is /26.

Best regards,
Dave

Hello all, The IPC-4101/99 is supposed to be Lead Free FR4 material. The
/26 is the standard FR4 used in a leaded process. The /99 is the
proposed material for use in a No Lead process. Both use a bromine based
flame retardant. The RoHS compliant material uses a TBBPA based system
although manufacturers are looking into non-halogen materials as bromine
substitutes. Is the /99 compliant...?

Regard's, Fred Dark Jr.
