You can get auto dip equipment for around $6K. It is a worthwhile
investment.
Got ya's - Dip slowly (2"/min or less) to avoid bubble entrapment.
Withdraw at the same slow rate. The slower you withdraw the thinner the
coating. Too fast and you will have coating dripping off the card. We
would usually hang them for 5 minutes and brush off the drips as they
formed.
We used a machine set at about 1"/min. The boards were small so we could
dip 6 at a time.

Subject: [TN] Manual conformal coat dipping process

Fellow technetters.

Anyone out there have experience with 'manually' dip coating conformal
coat.  I have never done the dipping coating process.  Machine spray and
hand spray I have done.  The concept sounds simple enough but I was
looking for advice on process got ya's or issues to watch for when doing
the dipping.  Our customer is requiring the dipping process and
currently doesn't wish to spend the money on more automated equipment.
