Cenelec has developed the standard for the "Crossed out Wheelie bin"
symbol with the solid bar underneath that is being used to indicate EEE
placed on the market after Aug 13 2005. You can purchase the standard
from them - it gives details about the dimensions and scaling factors.

The symbol with the garbage can would seem to indicate just the
opposite, that you cannot throw it away because it has toxic materials.

Subject: [TN] WEEE symbol
Hi Technetters;
I am looking for a good example of a WEEE symbol to place onto my PCB's.
I can just place the letters "WEEE" in Silkscreen with a stroke thru it
but that would look a bit cheesy.
I want it symbolic. I believe what I saw was the pictoral garbage can
with a hand reaching to it, then a stroke across it.
Any refs to pics of one would be appreciated. I will then make a SS
symbol for it in my lib.
Thanks & Regards
TDK
