I don't know about Joe, but I would be interested in the details of both
methods.

Joe:

If your client wants to control Thiourea in an immersion Tin bath, you
probably want more than a simple analysis for Thiourea. Thiourea is not
consumed in the immersion Tin reaction, it is complexed, and moves from
complexing the Tin, in a new bath, to complexing the dissolved Copper, as
the bath is used.

My suspicion is that your client really wants to control for free,
uncomplexed Thiourea...

I have two methods in my box of tricks, one for total Thiourea, by UV
absorbtion, and a titration for uncomplexed Thiourea.

I can forward any/all... would this help?

Happy New Year to all of you. I have a question for a client who is
looking to find a lab who has the ability to analyze for thiourea. My
understanding is that this is an additive used for PCB's undergoing the
immersion tin process. Does anyone know of a facility that has the ability
to analyze for this substance?
