Do a web search for shot bags or forming bags. Or you can make them yourself
out of small drawstring bags and loose shot from the sporting goods store.
Be careful with the steel shot, fluxes and water will cause them to rust....

I know; I've used them in a previous life as well. I just don't know where
we got them from. Do you recall?

In a previous life, we had used small cloth bags of shot for this purpose.
Today, just make sure it's not lead shot or the RoHS police will get you

Subject: [TN] Soldering Weights

Does anyone know where I can get soldering weights for holding components
down when going over the wave? Specifically, I need a very small weight for
holding down a small radially-inserted switch which tends to float in the
wave. Maybe a small bag of shot?

Any information and/or assistance is appreciated.
