Colleagues,

Last year the IPC-A-600 task group made a request for a joint meeting
with the members of the IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 task groups to discuss
the difference in requirements for the acceptance of measles in printed
boards and printed board assemblies.

We have set aside 60 minutes, from 8AM-9AM, on Monday, February 6th, for
this discussion within the 7-35 Assembly and Joining Handbook
Subcommittee meeting being held in the Huntington ABC room of the
Anaheim Hilton.

Members of the A-610 and 001 task groups can be available to provide
anecdotal and testimonial information relevant to field failures that
involve measles and CAF with printed board assemblies. No reliability
data sets have been generated. I know that there is a subsequent
position from the board side that it is more a question of wicking than
measling in regards to CAF growth, so this should be an important
discussion among the two sides.

If there is sufficient interest on the part of IPC-A-600 and IPC-6012
task group members to participate in this discussion, we will keep this
one hour slot available within the 7-35 meeting. This precedes the 10AM
- 3:00 PM IPC-6012/A-600 meeting taking place in the Laguna AB room of
the Hilton. Please reply to [log in to unmask] if you plan to attend this
joint discussion so we can confirm it with the 001 and 610 membership.

Thanks,

John Perry
