Hi Heather,

Shouldn't be any flames. I don't find my designers using the tool you're
having to use. Before you disregard it though, make sure you've made all
attempts to have their App Engineers help you. I'm a long time Cadence
user, and have great relationships with those people using the tools, as
well as folks inside Cadence that can help me. I've also used PADS and
Mentor's Expedition tools, and find PADS simple, but also error prone
(it's very easy to make very bad mistakes). Expedition is very much like
Cadence Allegro, and relies on a good netlist interface.

Please fel free to contact me with questions on tools. And, as I
mentioned, I've been in the firing line of "what's wrong with our PCB
design tool?" from management, so you need help, let me know. You don't
want to go into these meetings unprepared.
