Joyce,

UL's world is a scary one; safety and regulatory compliance are not
standardized, country to country. There is UL, CSA, CA, TUV, etc... Now
there is RoHS. UL is pointing out, on page 47, all the different ways this
will or won't come together, by country, and how complicated that could be
for product compliance. It appears to me that UL is selling a solution to
the problem that the RoHS compliance infrastructure isn't in place,
namely: "UL 's Restricted Systems Compliance Solution".

amazing the initiative got passed without any clue of the alternative
solution...page 47 is scary.  It is brave new world:  the engineering and
science look like politics with "Catherine Harris" in EU..fuzzy logic in
the
works..
