XRF won't provide you percentage of alloys unless specific calibrations are
programmed into it.

I'm curious, wouldn't the certificate of analysis of the raw material be
sufficient for verifying compliance? The raw material supplier is performing
the test, why would it need repeating?

Trevor,

I will not ask where this information is, I have not studied the directives.
But it would be good to know the source, though ;o)

What I wonder is how will it be measured? In the assembler's incoming it
would be OK to scrape the plating off and put the part on the XRF, but once
we deal with finished product, it gets rather complicated.
