The same can be said of most stripping agents. Thorough cleaning of
stripped assemblies is vital.

Never use Humiseal Type conformal coating remover. This stuff is
conductive and can become trapped under components causing problems.

          Hi Andrew:
Humiseal makes a UR stripper but it will remove
all the coating vertically in significantly quicker time than horizontally.
Under the BGAs it will remove it if the coating did not fill all the
spacing under the BGA. If there is a complete fill of the spacing under the
BGA, it is a different story because the horizontal distance is much
greater. Perhaps damming the BGA and filling with the chemical may
accomplish what you want. I would try it on a scrap board that is made of
the same material. Cheers
          Regards,
          Ramón

Subject: [TN] Help with removing UR Conformal Coating

Has anyone had experience or success with removing conformal coating for
PWA that has been coated with UR coating especially using a chemical means.
I am particularly interested with how you handled coating around or under
BGA's.

  Any help would be grateful.

  Thanks.
