Denis,
Unfortunately I can't help you on this, but am also interested in
knowing. This again reflects a major shortcoming and frustration in the EU
Directive. They give vague definitions in many areas and then will not give
you a binding answer on an interpretation of how the definitions apply to
your specific product or situation....

Mike

Have you a take on what one may encounter in this scenario? I am trying to
get some information from California. Seems that as always--the court
rulings will decide! Wish I were an attorney!

Denis

Chris,
I would beg to differ. This is the 'Leadfree' forum, not the 'EU
RoHS Only' forum. Though originally driven by the foolishness initiated by
the EU, the monster continues to grow on both sides of the pond.

Here in the US, the federal government has stayed out of the fray so
far. This leaves each state the creativity to write their own little 'RoHS
du jour', causing even further confusion and consternation on the part of
manufacturers and suppliers.

I would think that you would have interest in RoHS legislation
wherever it is being developed, as it will impact your organization in
marketing products over here....

This forum is really EU RoHS centric and moreover "RoHS" per se refers
to the EU directive (in most peoples minds).

It reads like you are questioning USA State legislation??

Chris

I have been reviewing the details of the first couple of States RoHS
laws
(CA, TX). The question has come up on our major accounts of whether
one
can redeploy used non-RoHS equipment from a store outside of one of the
states to inside after their RoHS laws take effect.

Specific example. Could for instance a department stores take a
non-RoHS IT
unit that they have in, say, Arizona and move it to a CA store location?
