They may be exempt from WEEEE, but Article 2 of the RoHS directive seems
to clearly bring them into RoHS....
Article 2
Scope
1. Without prejudice to Article 6, this Directive shall apply to
electrical and electronic equipment falling under the categories 1, 2,
3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 10 set out in Annex IA to Directive No 2002/96/EC
(WEEE) and to electric light bulbs, and luminaires in households.
Except for mercury, Where does the exemption for CCFL lamps exist?

Annex 1B-5 of the WEEE directive specifically excludes "filament bulbs".
I would interpret that to mean all incancescent bulbs.

Subject: [LF] Light Bulbs and RoHS
Dear All
Does anyone have a view on whether small incandescent light bulbs
(amazingly still used for backlighting and switch illumination!) are
included in RoHS or are exempt. This also applies to mains neon's, but
I'm not talking about CCFL tubes, which are exempt.
regards
paul
