Here's another choice Rich.

This unit looks similar to a video camera. I don't quite remember the
price, but ~25-35k comes to mind. I've used these units both on PCB
modules, and on optical components when I used to work for Nortel.

Good luck!

Rich,
Many IR cameras cost about $70K (US). But these have high definition
and can detect temperature differences to maybe 0.01 C. But for what we
are doing, who cares?! Try compix.com
http://www.compix.com
You can buy cameras from them for less than $20K (or at least you could
4 years ago).

Subject: [TN] Heat Sensing Equipment

Hello Technetters...

A customer of mine is wondering if there is a piece of equipment (a
camera, lens, or something similar) that can capture "heat" that is
being generated off of a board. Ideally the equipment would be able to
show "hot spots" on the board. (Different colors for different heat
ranges).

Is there something like this out there in the industry?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Rich
