Perhaps I was not clear enough in my explanation yesterday. Solder tails
refers to the portion of the connector leads that are going to be
soldered in the holes in the circuit board. In this print, the connector
tails will have 100 uinches of tin lead or bright tin. The contact
portion of the leads will have gold. The gold makes for a good
electrical contact at the mating surface. The ends or tails of the leads
that go into the holes in the circuit board and get soldered will be
finished with tin or tin/lead in order to form a good solder joint.
