You can HASL with any solder suitable for electronics. In general the
surface smoothness should be the same if done correctly. A tighter range is
possible with most lead free alloys.

Subject: [TN] plating smoothness

Does anybody call out a specific smoothness finish ever on a fabrication dwg
for the HASL? In these days of lead free, going forawrd, I am wondering if
silver will have the same smoothness finish as SN63/PB37 using HASL?

1) Or can you HASL with silver?

2) Does anyone have an example of a fab note for such a callout? Or is
this getting too specific?
