Dan,
I used a 5-zone oven for over a year with lead-free product with great
success. However, my boards were not very thermally demanding. (5in. x 4in.
x .063, 8 layers). When I went to a more complicated product I went to an 8
zone oven.

It can be done but takes a little more work.
