There are multiple MIL specs governing connectors. The most common is
MIL-A-28870 "Assemblies, Electrical Backplane, Printed-Wiring, General
Specification For", which is widely (and often incorrectly) referenced.
This specification does give criteria for press fit pins, but only for those
that are per MIL-C-28859 requirements. Not all connectors are MIL-C-28859
compliant.
IEC also maintains specifications for numerous connector styles.
Again, check the technical literature from the connector manufacturer of the
connector you are using. Even if the connector is not certified to some
industry specification, they should be able to give you performance data.
