                        Hi Wee:
Answering question number 3, there is
a tool that looks like a wide tooth comb that supports the board while
the connector pins are pressed. Depending on the number of pins, it
takes several hundred pounds of pressure to press the average press fit
connector.
        Regards,
        Ramon

Subject: Re: [TN] Press-fit pins and polyimide laminate

Hello,

I would like to join in to ask some questions about press-fit connectors
on flex circuit :

1. Can press fit connector be used on flex circuit? My opinion is no
unless it is on the rigid section. But then how about MLB flex? How many
layers then is good for press-fit.

2. Does the rules for press-fit on rigid board apply to mulitlayer flex
too?

3. Must press-fit connector be assemblied using a tool or can they be
pushed in by hands?

Regards,
Wee Mei
