        Hi Kenny:
Didn't the CC discolored, or better yet darkened
after the reflow oven? I ask this question since the baking temp for CC
is a lot lower than the reflow temp. I am all for it, if it works. I am
just curious.
        Regards,
        Ramon

Hi Steve,

You mentioned that you conformal coat these boards. We once had a
similar experience and worked with the component supplier to fix the
problem. In the mean time we applied conformal coating over the legend
before we went through all the other processes. It stayed on pretty good
and got us through the crisis. Since it was already on the parts list it
didn't create any configuration problems.

Maybe you could try the same thing.

Hi Kat!

It's not labels that we have the problem with, but the ink-stamped or
painted markings on metal parts...and we've always been fighting this
problem to a certain degree.

It's just that now it seems we're building a lot of assemblies for a
customer that use these types of parts, and they're real picky when it
comes to markings, only because their customer is.

We use Kyzen Aquanox 4512P in a Aqueous Technologies SMT800 batch
cleaner.
We run the concentration from 10-20%, at a wash temp of 140 F. The rinse
is ambient temp DI water.

Almost every one of these assemblies get conformal coated with urethane
coating.
So we try and make sure the boards are as pristine as possible prior to
coating.

Kind regards,
