Fasteners technology is an area that often requires special knowledge about
friction and joint design (e.g. Coefficient of Friction and/or
Torque-Tension). We know this area well and have R&D capability to support special needs.
Simply using stainless steel is a response that ignores cost, friction,
galvanic corrosion and availability issues.

You may want to visit _www.zinklad.com_ (http://www.zinklad.com) for
detailed information about applicators, technology and automotive OEM approvals.
This program consists of Approved Platers that are audited on a quarterly
basis for compliance to the proper protocol. These finishes are free of
hexavalent chromium.

I suspect that other suppliers of corrosion protection coatings are also
into a certification mode to help police whether customers are properly using
chemicals designed for RoHS compliance.
