Thanks Steve,
The dark question is now enlighted!

Ahh Inge, but there are particles! The figure is also more like 90-99%
of the universe is "Dark Matter"...
The two main categories that scientists consider as possible candidates
for dark matter have been
dubbed MACHOs (Massive Astrophysical Compact Halo Objects), and WIMPs
(Weakly Interacting
Massive Particles).
Although these acronyms are amusing, they can help you remember which is
which. MACHOs are the
big, strong dark matter objects ranging in size from small stars to
super massive black holes.
MACHOs are made of 'ordinary' matter, which is called baryonic matter.
WIMPs, on the other hand, are the little weak subatomic dark matter
candidates, which are thought to be
made of stuff other than ordinary matter, called non-baryonic matter.
Astronomers search for MACHOs and particle physicists look for WIMPs.
Here's a really, really good page about all this stuff:

If you're into this, you could stay lost there for hours!

Subject: [TN] NTC Friday question
Can anyone explain how the so called 'dark energy' (75% of universe) can
exist without particles? It's said that the dark energy is continously
filled into universe from singularities, and that the dark energy repels
the galaxes and is the cause why they accelerate.
Myself, I would like to have a little more energy, but not dark one.
Inge
