Boy, thanks for the day brightener, John!
At least you can take steps to comply. I, on the other hand, have to
find ways to not comply (military is sort of exempt), and yet build a
reliable product anyway. And all this while they remove the lead from my
components, from my subassembly circuits, the bromides from the pwbs,
and all of the chemicals and materials in general that made all of this
work. And now my leaded solder will probably no longer be available to
me, either. 
That's what is really scary.
