Correct. Both companies make excellent equipment. I have used both. Be sure to review the options available for spray valves. PVA has different styles available for different applications and has the ability to mount more than one to the robot gantry. They also can provide unique and special needs work cell designs. At my previous employer we had a PVA with two different valve styles for the different applications we needed. PVA has true four axe movement including rotation which I have found to be great. Nordson has their swirl coat applicator. I have not used it but I understand that it does provide a good bead spray all the way up to your fan pattern.

Both PVA and Nordson spray equipment are good. PVA is easier to
program and less costly.

Hello Gil,

We currently employ the use of 2 inline spray systems and one Nordson
C708, and one Asymtek Select Coat. I have been through the training for
the programming, equipment operations, maintenance, and I found the
systems to be quite user friendly. I have used both of these machine for
3 years and have not really had a problem with the mechanics or the
software. I actually find the programming to be really fun because it is
sort of a game to determine what the best solution is to coat the
boards. I have also had great experience with the technical support of
the machines. I have always received an answer to a problem in a timely
fashion and the solutions they provided were effective. I find the
customer tech support aspect "very" important when evaluating
manufacturers equipment - they in my experience are near the top. Next
year we are planning to replace a minimum of one of our machines with a
new one to keep up with technologies and control features, but I will
not sway towards another company.

I know that PVA has excellent equipment as well. One of our sister
companies has one and they are very happy with it.

Hope this helps.

CAS

Subject: [TN] Selective conformal coating machine

Hello,

Currently we are hand masking and spray coating. We intend to buy a
selective conformal coating machine from Asymtek OR PVA. Do you have
experience with these machines and can recommend which one to buy? Any
recommendation on other companies or other technique?

Thanks,
