Have not seen the pictures yet but have seen some from a customer showing
Tin, Zinc, and Cadmium growth under certain test conditions. That is why they
are not allowed in space applications. They even had one of Brass alloy that
had "fuzz" all over it.

Note that they are coming from all over the plating on the connector... not
necessarily just from the solder joints... So tin finishes are also possible
sources for tin whiskers. Whew... scares me worse than Freddy Kruger at the
door for trick-or-treat ever could...

You have to make sure you have the entire link (both lines) in order to
get to the web page. The only way I was able to get it to work was copy
and paste the first line into Internet Explorer, don't open it and copy
and paste the second line to the end of the first line. Hit Enter and it
should work.
