Another excellent lab in Minneapolis is MEE (Materials Evaluation and
Engineering, Inc.)
http://www.mee-inc.com/. They have a lot of experience in ESD failure
analysis. They have also done a lot of Auger analysis for me in my
consulting business, and they did really good work. In fact, both the
customers and the board vendors noted that their reports were very
impartial, honest, stick-to-the facts type of data accumulation where
both sides of a problem could walk away and use the data to fix or
optimize their processes.

Talk to Twin Cities Testing in Minneapolis. Another resource might be
ACI in PA. I have dealt with both and they are equally good analysis
places. Twin Cities testing is the old Stork Testing.

We are looking for a lab to do some failure analysis on a flash memory
chip that we suspect may have been damaged by ESD. The engineer would
like a facility that could etch away the plastic to reveal the circuits
inside and capture the details with an electron microscope. What labs
are in the U.S.
that could do this type of work? Is there such a lab in Minnesota?
What might this cost?
