Problem:
Partially plugged or tented via holes will not fill without vacuum..
Fabricators can do the cross section before this stage. Coupons are also
delivered without plugging.
For failure analysis of assemblies or delivered circuits , filling plugged
holes is a challenge.
For accurate measuring of platings reaching the center of the holes is
required.
If you look for other defects, a small deviation will not be important- you
see it where it is. Horizontal cross sections : my nightmare.
