Clarification: I was using weight and mass interchangeable which is
technically wrong.

Dewey I see is in true form.

Jason,
Richard is right.
You can:
 1) Run a board through the oven with paste only to get the weight of
the solder and the flux residue (ignoring any outgassing by the board).
2) Or less accurately, use your file for your stencil to determine the
volume of the apertures, assume a certain level (less than 100%) of
paste release, assume the solder is 50% of the volume of the paste,
ignore the flux residue, use the density of the solder and get the mass
of the solder laid down on the board.

You need to subtract the weight of the solder from the delta of the
assembly minus the pwb to get the true weight of the components.
May I ask why you are trying to determine this?

The weight of the populated PCB minus the weight of the bare PCB will
give you the total or combined weight of the components. But if you
want the weight of individual components, you're going have to actually
measure each one...:(

Subject: [TN] Okay, all you real smart guys.........

Can someone point me in the right direction on determining mass of
components of a PCB, knowing:

the weight of a bare PCB
the weight of a populated PCB
number of terminations
etc.

Who knows the formula?

TIA
