Solder mask? Or paste? Probably paste, and for your response you receive the
ever popular..."it depends"

Approximately 50% of my customers ask for paste files be sent with the
product. The others I can only image make up the data after receiving
product which seems strange as I often receive 1up with no panel data other
than 3X5, 2X4, etc.

I think it wise that paste files depicting the actual array be provided with
each order (from the board shop to assembler) as to ensure placement, etc.

What has been your experience regarding solder mask data supplied to
contract assemblers?  Do they request or use customer supplied data or
do they prefer to generate their own stencils based on volumes?  This is
