Greetings

We build an assembly that has a wire harness soldered to the board. The end of the wires on the board end have crimped terminals similar to http://www.molex.com/pdm+AF8-docs/sd/008700060+AF8-sd.pdf The initial lead protrusion once these terminals get soldered in the board is about .150+ACI-.

Provided there is no electrical clearance issues or customer print governing lead protrusion, what would govern the lead protrusion?

Would the IPC-A-610 regulations for lead protrusion apply? In this case it would mean trimming the terminals down to .098+ACI-.

I have researched this both on the net and in IPC/WHMA-A-620, but I have yet to find anything regarding the soldering and / or clipping of these terminals.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Jason Lineback
