Back in 1998 we investigated most of the machines on the market: Ersa,

Weller, APE, OK/Metcal, AirVac/Zevac, Conceptronic, Sierra Summit,

Weller, PDR etc etc.

What you want depends on the skill level you expect your operators to

have for this, how much rework you have to do and the cost of the BGAs

you are replacing... And what you budget for a machine is!

We found the OK BGA3500 system the most flexible and easiest to use and

best for us - and we have been very happy with it. The newer Metcal

APR-5000 version seems to be even better and has a "large PCB" version.

Our sister factory in the USA went with the AirVac, however, and they

like that a lot too.
