I don't get the impression single market means word for word, but they
cannot change the requirements. My understanding is this means no
additional (or less) chemical substances are to be restricted.

No different phase out dates

The part that gets troublesome for me is the reference to WEEE for the scope
of products.

Dave, can you send me a link to the teddy bear guidance you mentioned
earlier?

Hi Nigel, IPC LF Listservers,

<RoHS is a "single market Directive" which is mandatory in all EU states
and must be implemented "as is" in the national law of each state. We
have looked upon this as the more troublesome chiefly of the removal of
lead in solder.>

I interpret your answer to mean one thing and maybe you meant something
else.

"as is" to me means that it should be implemented (transposed) word for
word and written as an independent law.

In the recent German legislation WEEE and RoHS were combined. I think
Ireland did the same, yet can't remember right now.

So, what did you mean??

Yours in Engineering, Dave
