Hi Steve,
Try to get purchasing to get you the name of the local direct sales
person. They are usually pretty good from my experience. They can put
pressure on the domestic support people to get you a quick answer.

Hi Leo!

I tried. When you call their technical support,
you get patched into their outsourced tech support
line, which is over in India I believe.

They tried to answer the question for me when I first
called, but couldn't. So then they told me I had to
establish a technical support case number, and try
to get my question answered via email.

So here I are....

Kind regards,

Subject: [TN] Continuing Cypress part saga...you're not going to believe
this

Mornin' once again!

Opened my email this morning to find another response from Cypress.
YAY! I thought to myself, I'm finally getting an answer!

I opened the email which links you to the Cypress web page, then to your
case number. I opened my case, and this is what I found:

Thank you for using the Cypress On-Line ConnectionCenter.
We are from Quality System & Customer Support Group. Your request is
 important to us.
We'll start working on this case and give you complete response on or
 before 7/27/05.

 Best Regards,

Can you believe this!?? I should have just went ahead and tinned the part
in
the first place without bothering to ask the company that made the part
how
thick the gold is that they plated the part with.

I never would have thought that it would take over two weeks to answer
such
a simple question as that. SHEESH!

Kind regards,
