Bill,

Let me start with the ever popular response...it depends.

While 18X24 is a popular panel size not all shops will do 18X24 and a few of
us do 24X24.

A shop develops panel size based upon factors such as tank size (LWD),
existing tooling, lamination press, solder mask station, drill/rout
equipment capability, etc and some shops get excellent results with larger
panels sizes, others prefer smaller.

I suggest you simply involve your board shop in this evaluation and obtain
their experience, expertise, etc etc in you developing your layup.

I do not believe there is an IPC standard panel size.

Hope this helps

Subject: [TN] Standard panel size?...

Hi TechNet...

We are re-evaluating our board assembly panel sizes and want to get the best
yields from our vendor's manufacturing panels when we select the final size
of our 'standard' assembly panel...

What is your PCB manufacturing 'standard' panel size for glass/epoxy type
materials??? Some PCB vendors tell me they have a working panel size of
18x24 inches... what do you use? And why?

Thanks in advance for your help...
