The RoHS compliance of inks can be an issue is the ink is used to emboss text onto components that fall within the scope of the Directive.

Although I agree it sounds a bit fussy

Thank you for the clarification, I understood it as it being a label.

Hi Ted

The real story on the web is:

Cadmium in cables exceeded 0.01% limit by 3-20x
- Sony forced to replace and destroy non-compliant cables
before PS1 shipments could continue
- No recall of existing units, and no replacement in other
countries where cadmium levels did not exceed local
regulations

Best regards

Mario

It cost Sony millions due to a label, they had to recall a ton of play
stations from the Netherlands.

Bonjour TechNeters,

Here is a question about RoHs. One customer is requesting that we comply
with RoHs and mentionned that there could be a concern with laser ink
used
on the product labels we affix on finish products.

I have made some verifications with HP but have not get any firm answer
as
of yet.

Do you ever heard about a problem for the ink to comply with RoHs
requirements ?

Thanks for your collaboration
