Rudy, Rudy, Rudy...

You missed my point, I guess I'm too subtle. I'm in your camp! My last
sentence was supposed to clarify what you more clearly stated, "But then
what do I know, I'm certainly not a Political figure in the EU who has
all the answers!" :-)

You wrote: "Many of the chromate conversion suppliers are coming out
with non-chromate containing conversion coatings to replace the old
ones."

Do you know if the aerospace industry is embracing these new processes?
Since there is so much conversion coating in the aerospace industry
you'd think that they'd be fully involved.

Thanks,

Ken Ken Ken.... Get this straight, and everything becomes clear..

RoHS is not about protecting the environment, or anything actually
important...

RoHS and such things as Lead-Free, are about APPEARING to be
environmentally wonderful.

A world class expert in metal finishing, Jack Dini has been writting a
column in a monthly mag about this very weirdness for years... There is
a book out which is a collection of his columns that is a national
treasure.

Many of the chromate conversion suppliers are coming out with
non-chromate containing conversion coatings to replace the old ones.

In one aspect of this that I am involved with, finishing aluminum
castings, it was shown that because the process now involves a
completely different kind of painting... electrophoretic, they could
dispense with the coating altogether.
