Yes, calibration is required.
According to the Manufacturer, they suggest calibrating before each use.

You can create a formula that will convert the display reading into
equivalents of NaCl.
A programmable calculator works very well for this.
If you do not have the formula in your manual, please contact me off-line.

The only requirement for the calibration of the actual electronics would be
the resistors to determine resistance within specified tolerance.

Dear Technetters,


This is regarding measurement of ioninc contamination. We are using  OMEGA
METER Ionic contamination Test systm Model 500.

Iam having the following questions.


1. Does this system require calibration? If so at what frequesncy?


2. Can we take the resistivity readings from the meter and conver it to
contamination level in terms of micrograms of NaCl per sq cm from
conversion table instead of using the slide rule  for calculation?


3. Are there any agencies in India to calibrate this system?
