No problem, Joe.

With regards to Kyoto, this is a very difficult subject. Personally I
am not sure I believe in man-made global warming, but at the same time
do I want to gamble with the well-being of future generations if I am
wrong? That is why I have advocated REASONABLE things to cut down
greenhouse gases. At the very least it will make our non-renewable
carbon energy sources stretch out a few more decades and maybe give us
some cleaner air. My country has signed the accord and as we are
farther north than you, less densely populated and not as far along as
the Scandinavians, this is going to be very difficult for us.

Your administrations have seen this (Kyoto) as a ploy for wealth
redistribution and they may be right. But then there is the questions
of whether this is necessarily a bad thing. Now I expect Brain Ellis to
wack me in the side of the head with a Cyprus tomato or olive as I am
waaay off base for this forum. :)

Thanks for your comments Bev. It is great having you as a neighbor. :-)

I would add that in the US, elected administrations rarely (nay, never)
reflect the feelings of the entire populace. They set policy only for
the time they
are in power and that their decisions can be revisited and amended or
overturned by subsequently elected administrations. (I like to think of
Kyoto as
being just temporarily on hold in the US)

The political pendulum swings back and forth, however slowly (and
however
small the arc... ;-)

Kind regards,
Joe
