Sounds like the exact same type of response I am getting from other semiconductor mfrs.
This does not seem to be isolated to Cypress, unfortunately.
However, the co I was dealing with last week, (and am still waiting for a final response...ahemTI..ahem) sent out an automated customer satisfaction survey for me to fill out, based on my experience with the tech support.
I gleefully filled it out... It felt good to get some of that out of my system... but the person handling my call might not feel as good about it.
The thing that bugged me the most was that most of the response was info reposted from the website. They assumed I hadn't bothered to look there first, I guess. I searched the website thoroughly before I tried the help. I only tried it once I was sure my question wasn't being answered anywhere else.
And that is just one of the stories I could tell right now. My requests are all about researching parts for RoHS

Can you believe this!?? I should have just went ahead and tinned the part
in
the first place without bothering to ask the company that made the part how
thick the gold is that they plated the part with.
I never would have thought that it would take over two weeks to answer such
a simple question as that. SHEESH!
