I think Sir Doug lost his direction backing up the Trolley. It was
either from the fumes of the corn produced Ethanol powering the Trolley
or it was all that compassing. He had the answer all along; it depends.
IAg, ISn, ENIG and OSP could all be viable surface finishes for RoHS
compliancy. Not all surface finishes of the same name are the same, just
as all fabricators and processes are not the same in spite of the
claims. All these have issues that must be understood so one can assess
their potential impact on use, cost and reliability in each unique
end-use environment.

Whoa. Back up the trolley. All boards have handling and storage
issues.
Maybe not from a solderability perspective but certainly from a
cleanliness perspective.
Never make all encompassing statements, which, come to think of it, is
an all encompassing statement........

And ENIG has no handling and storage issues like Immersion Silver and
Immersion Tin.

If you are talking about PWB metallization, I would recommend ENIG. It
is compatible with both Tin/Lead and Lead-free.

Subject: [TN] RoHs board surface recommendations.
Good Day TecNetters.
Does anybody out there have Board surface recommendations for a RoHs
process ?
A matrix would be preferred. I don't seem to recall seeing any such type
of document or discussions on TechNet so any help would be greatly
appreciated.
