Some of us are more "austere" then others; I for one would rather not be in
the company of penny-pinching, serious tightwads.
On the other hand, our more often then not 'august' group, is sure to come up
with some more or less useful answers.
My answer to your question: "Does the statement "to remain flexible" mean in
the final application or
during assembly?" is an unequivocal 'YES.'
All seriousness aside, if you can bend your solder-stiffened wire into place
during assembly, that is all that is needed, and why worry about IPC-A-610?
