Hi Richard! Sorry but I don't know of any standards. However, I have had
good success responding to radiation damage questions using Tom Clifford's
article and the Nicolet Test Instruments Division Application Note titled "
Ionizing Radiation and its Effects Upon Electronic Components". There isn't
much else in the accessible published literature that is data relevant.
Good Luck.

Thanks, Bev.
I do have a copy. It is an excellent article. But I need standards.....

Richard,
You might want to get a copy of "X-ray Inspection - Avoid Radiation
Damage" by Tom Clifford of Lockheed Martin. Unfortunately I cannot give
you more info about the reference, as that's all I know.

Hi Richard!

I asked that question of a former applications engineer (now sales
engineer)
of Fein Focus when she was here giving me a presentation on their Tiger
series system Tuesday.

I asked that question because their system can put out 160 kV at 1 mA.

I was told the only component that she has heard of possibly becoming
damaged was memory. She wasn't able to give me a specific level, but she
did say that it would need to be directed at the component for an
extended period of time.

She added that she hasn't heard of a Fein Focus system ever damaging
components.

Kind regards,

Does anyone have information on the X-ray radiation levels that can
potentially harm electronic components? I am looking for standards (IPC
or otherwise) that detail or recommend dosage limits for various
component package types and sizes.
