I think it is a cultural thing.  We have a "Scandinavian" club
(association?) where I live and these folks are descendants of the
Swedes and Finns than came here to work in the granite quarries.  They
regularly hold functions relating back to their cultural roots and they
invite the public to join in on their celebrations.

Am I missing something or does summer happen at a different time there
then here in America? Summer Solstice was Tuesday the 21st. Also it's
