Hi Al!

Genny hit the nail on the head as it were. The bolt
SHOULD have been installed going in the other
direction.

You're right though, there's just a nut on the end. The
waveformer hold down bolts just pivot on the one
horizontal bolt.

There should be two hold down bolts in the picture
that you looked at. There should be another one just
to the left of the one in the picture.

That one is the one that broke in the first place, and why
we emptied the pot to fix it. We planned to replace all 5
with new hold down bolts while we had the pot emptied.
There's 3 on the rotary waveformer, and 2 on the laminar
waveformer.

Kind regards,

I suppose that'll work, I just assumed the left side was threaded. I
suppose it could just be a pass thru with a nut on the end.

Probably install it from the other direction, since the other side had
much
greater clearance.

If you cut the bolt off to remove it, How do you plan to get the new one
back in ???

Hi Werner!

No problem! Use my pictures however you see fit.

I have an update to our little saga...

Got most of the pot emptied, we were hoping that we didn't have to
completely empty the whole thing, just enough to where we could get
to where the waveformer hold down bolts are connected to the nozzle
so that we could loosen and replace them.

Lo and behold, when we got the solder down to the level where we could
work on replacing the bolts, Electrovert had a nice little surprise for
us!

Go to: http://www.stevezeva.homestead.com and click on "Picture Page 2",
then look for; "Hold down Bolt".

As you can see, Electrovert assembled the nozzle and waveformer hardware
such that you can't remove the bolt that the waveformer hold-down bolts
pivot
on. The only way to remove that bolt is to remove the whole rotary nozzle
(trust
me, you DON'T want to do that), or just cut the bolt and replace it with a
new one,
then put the bloody thing back together like it should of been put
together
in the
first place. GRRRRRR!

So my maintenance tech is off to Lowes to get us a new bolt...

But we do have some pretty solder ingots! While you were at my page did
you
look at "Pretty Solder"? Looks nice huh?

Kind regards,

Hi Steve,
Great pics; may I use them for a column I write--with full credits, of
course? If you got others--more gory, that would be great.
